Essentials First Aid Kit

The name says it all with our Essentials First Aid Kit. It has all the essentials required to perform basic first aid and it stocks the necessities you may need to reach for on a day-to-day basis in a small workplace environment or during recreational activities in the outdoors.

The Essentials First Aid Kit is slightly more diverse than our smaller version Compact First Aid Kit. The Essentials kit has a wider variety of bandages, dressings, and eye pads which will aid you in attending to a range of accidents you may come across.

The lightweight and portable Essentials First Aid Kit weighs in at 400 grams but its contents is thought out and carefully selected.

Handy Kit

We recommend the Essentials Kit as a great starter in a small workplace of up to 10 staff as it contains the bare necessities. We also think it is ideal to store in a work vehicle because of its convenient soft pack which fits in tight spaces. Workers can opt to carry the bag or for more convenience, thread it through the belt loop when working outdoors, at heights and require easy or fast access.

The kit is also designed with our great outdoors in mind and highly recommended to take to all your recreational activities where accidents are inevitable. Are you travelling? Due to its lightweight composition the Essentials Kit is ideal for travel backpacks as well.

Following the principles

When applying basic first aid you should always remember your action plan as the abbreviation DRSABCD. This stands for the first aid principles you should follow:

D – Danger – do not put yourself in any danger and check your surroundings are safe.

R – Response – check if the person is conscious or responding to you when you talk or touch them.

S – Send for help – call emergency # 000

A – Airways – Check there is no obstruction in their airway?

B – Breathing – Check for breathing by seeing if their chest rises.

C – CPR (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation) – if the person is unconscious and not breathing, ensure they lie flat on their back and do 30 chest compressions followed by 2 breaths until help arrives.

D – Defibrillator (AED) – if an adult is unconscious and still not breathing you can apply a defibrillator to help jump start their irregular heart beat and provide an electrical shock to their system.

Contained within the Essentials First Aid Kit is a pamphlet to guide you through first aid scenarios so you can act swiftly in the case of an incident. You will also receive a comprehensive maintenance checklist to ensure the pack is kept up to date and replenished when used.
